The Right to Life

"Contrary to claims of abortion advocates around the world, abortion is not a human right—neither in fact nor as defined by international law."
-Grace Melton
Human life begins at conception, when an entirely unique and separate human DNA is formed by God. The human rights system exists to protect the rights of humans, especially the weakest. The right to life is the first right. Enshrining abortion in our Virginia Constitution does not expand or improve human rights—it subverts the very concept of rights. If Democrats remain in control of the legislature, Virginia will become an "abortion sanctuary state", with the most liberal laws in the nation. Abortion physically and emotionally harms both women and their children. I will take every opportunity to protect innocent human life.
Education

"Children should be educated and instructed in the principals of freedom."
- John Adams
Each year, taxpayers are compelled to invest in a government education system that is failing our children. This year, Virginia schools ranked dead last — 51st among 50 states and D.C. — in math recovery since the pandemic, and 41st in reading recovery When competition is stifled, the consumer suffers. I am committed to fighting for school choice, which would force government schools to compete for the privilege of educating the next generation. Without the pressures of competition in education, parents are sometimes treated as outside irritants rather than patrons who might potentially go elsewhere if not satisfied with the service. Additionally, it's critical that we invest in our teachers. Our educators seek to prepare the next generation for the challenges that lie ahead. They can't do that when they are underpaid and bogged down by administrative burdens. I will fight for an educational environment where our teachers are respected.
Law and Order

One of the primary purposes of government, as explained in the Bible and understood by our Founding Fathers, is to protect its citizenry by deterring evil and by punishing those who commit evil. When we allow violent criminals to freely roam our streets without justice, it is the government that has become evil. Policies that promote disrespect for the law cause chaos in our communities. Laws must protect the people, impartial justice must be swiftly served, and local authorities must cooperate with the efforts of Federal LEO to remove violent criminals and illegal immigrants from our Commonwealth.
Right to Self Defense

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.”
-Thomas Jefferson
The 2nd Amendment and Article 1 Section 13 of the Virginia Constitution make it very clear that you have an individual right to own and carry firearms, both for your protection and the protection of a free state. As a woman and mother of 3, the right to self defense is of particular importance to me. I will oppose new legislation and seek to repeal existing unconstitutional laws that infringe upon your right to keep and bear arms.
Agricultural Freedom

"Farmers are frequently forced to decide between making investments in their farms and following the law, which can result in a vicious cycle of debt and disappointment."
- Joel Salatin
Our farmers have undergone significant strain and economic uncertainty as a result of government intervention. Over-regulation and a focus on ludicrous climate initiatives have ignored the true needs of our farmers. Government should have a limited role in agriculture, allowing farmers to make their own decisions and innovate without excessive interference. We must ensure that farmers of both large and small scale operations, are supported in preserving our food supply and quality.
Economic Freedom

“I predict the future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.” -Thomas Jefferson
Policies from the left have hindered the economic outlook of families in Virginia’s 62nd district and across the commonwealth. If elected to the House of Delegates, I will work to keep more of your hard earned dollars where they belong- in your pockets! Economic freedom is essential to a free and prosperous society. Individuals will always be more capable of making fiscal decisions to meet the unique needs of their families and communities than politicians in Richmond. Lowering taxes, lifting regulation, and restricting government intrusion allows both our economy and households to thrive.
Individual Liberty and Property Rights

"Without liberty, law loses its nature and its name, and becomes oppression. Without law, liberty also loses its nature and its name, and becomes licentiousness."
- James Wilson
Our rights and liberties are given by God and simply protected by the Constitution. I will always vote to protect the individual and property rights described in our founding documents. In recent years, we witnessed the government enact unconstitutional mandates, penalize businesses, and infringe on the liberties and livelihoods of Virginians. If elected, I will defend your liberty, reduce government intrusion, and pledge to never take a vote that goes against the Constitution.
Preserving our Historical and Green Spaces

"There is none which compares in importance with the great central task of leaving this land even a better land for our descendants than it is for us.”
- President Theodore Roosevelt
Many things define HD-62, but chief among them are its proud history, rolling hills of farmland, and rural character. All hallmarks of true Virginian heritage. I will be the fiercest advocate for preserving what makes this district so special. I want to ensure that we can always be proud to call this little slice of heaven our home.
